My favorite painting by Whistler. Though arguments could be made for Battersea Bridge. I am reminded of the Japanese style of forming lines known as jomon. You can look that up yourself. Whistler was part of a movement that valued line over color. Personally I am not sure which I prefer. Color is pretty awesome.
