When it comes to color, Franz Marc, August Macke, and Paul Cezanne tie for first. Matisse is a close second. I recently saw this a print of this painting in somebody's bathroom along with one of Cezanne's from the Mt. Victoire series. There was also a Gauguin from his Tahitian series. I made sure to let the owner know I had recognized all three.

Even a little art history knowledge turns you into a big prick.
Cezanne is, in my opinion, all right with color. Franz Marc is the best I've seen so far.
